Interesting email that all parents should read

WARNING TO ALL PARENTS-GRANDPARENTS

This story was verified at: http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/sanitizer.asp and at http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/h/hand-sanitizer...htm

Yesterday, my youngest daughter, Halle , who is 4, was rushed to the emergency room by her father for being severely lethargic and incoherent. He was called to her school by the school secretary for being 'very VERY sick.'He told me that when he arrived, Halle was barely sitting in the chair... She couldn't hold her own head up and when he looked into her eyes, she couldn't focus them. He immediately scooped her up and rushed her to the ER, and then called me. When we got there, they ran blood test after blood test and did x-rays, every test imaginable. Her white blood cell count was normal, nothing was out of the ordinary. The ER doctor told us that he had done everything that he could do so he was sending her to Saint Francis for further tests. Right when we were leaving in the ambulance, her teacher came to the ER and, after questioning Halle 's classmates, we found out that she had licked hand sanitizer off her hand. Hand sanitizer, of all things. But it makes sense. These days they have all kinds of different scents and when you have a curious child, they are going to put all kinds of things into their mouths. When we arrived at Saint Francis, we told the ER doctor there to check her blood alcohol level, and yes we did get weird looks, but they did it. The results showed her blood alcohol level was .85% -- six hours after we first took her. There's no telling what it would have been if we would have requested it at the first ER. Since then, her school and a few surrounding schools have taken this out of the classrooms of all the lower grade classes, but what's to stop middle and high schoolers from ingesting the stuff? After doing research on the Internet, we have found out that it only takes 3 squirts of the stuff to be fatal in a toddler. For her blood alcohol level to be so high was to compare someone her size to drinking something 120 proof. So please PLEASE don't disregard this because I don't ever want anyone else to go through what my family and I have gone through. Please send this to everyone you know who has children or are going to be having children. It doesn't matter what age.

I'm not sure where my sister in law got this from, but it was an email that definately got my attention and thought I'd spread the word, because it scares me what some children will do, whether thinking or not!

Results from the Doctor Visit

First of all... THANKS to ALL of you for your PRAYERS!! They have been answered!! YAY!!

Ok.. first things first..

I have what I call the "white coat disease" LOL which makes my dang blood pressure shoot sky high at a dr visit and this one was no different than any other.. SOOO I have to get on blood pressure medicine.. yuck!

I have to start taking iron pills because I am anemic.. which I already knew.. just too stupid to take the things.. but as of yesterday I take 2 a day! =)

I have fibroids in my uterus... this is a good AND a bad thing! The bad thing is they are fibroids and are not helping my anemia at all... The good thing is my insurance covers the surgery for the removal of the fibroids (can't remember for the life of me what that is called) but while he is in there taking those out he will TIE MY TUBES BACK UP!!! YAY!!!

He said my weight loss is great and to keep it up, because it helps him while is doing the procedure (not as much fat to work around).

I go back this Friday to do a CBC and pelvic exam to find out exactly how many fibroids I have and all that good stuff..

Again, thanks for all the prayers, you all do not know how much it means to me that I have my prayers answered..

We are hoping for a June or July surgery, but like Dr. K says "we'll cross that bridge when we get there"

Sandra, thanks so much for referring him to me, you have TRULY helped me more than you know!

I have lost a total of 40 pounds and continuing to keep it going..

Thanks again to all of you!

Poem

My sister in law emailed me this poem and she sent it to me, not knowing that I truly need it! It came at the perfect time. I thought I'd share it with all of you.
Being a Christian, trying to do the best raising my 2 kids ( and wanting more), it showed me a few things, that I need to teach them as well.

BEST POEM IN THE WORLD!

I was shocked, confused, bewildered as I entered Heaven's door, Not by the beauty of it all, Nor the lights or its decor. But it was the folks in Heaven who made me sputter and gasp-- The thieves, the liars, the sinners, the alcoholics and the trash. There stood the kid from seventh grade, who swiped my lunch money twice. Next to him was my old neighbor, who never said anything nice. Herb, who I always thought was rotting away in hell, was sitting pretty on cloud nine, looking incredibly well. I nudged Jesus, What’s the deal? I would love to hear your take. How'd all these sinners get up here? God must've made a mistake. And why's everyone so quiet, so somber - give me a clue.' 'Hush, child,' He said, 'they're all in shock. No one thought they’d be seeing you.' * JUDGE NOT. *

Remember...Just going to church doesn't make you a Christian no more than standing in your garage makes you a car.

I hope all of you enjoyed this as much as I did! Its a lil different from my usual post, but I have a very stressful week coming up, and it just reminded me Why I love God! and what He is to me!

I hope all of you have a good week!
Leigh
